Coding & Robotics

6 Weeks | 1 Day/Week | 2 Hrs/Day

Is your child interested in Scratch coding and robots? This program builds planning and problem-solving skills using fun technology, with goals like:

  • Presenting a project to peers
  • Solving problems independently by identifying issues and testing ideas
  • Planning tasks by setting goals and following steps
  • Working collaboratively while learning introductory Scratch coding skills
  • Learning to program interactive robots to act and respond

Prerequisite Skills

Your child is a great fit if they:
  • Ask for help when needed
  • Describe events or stories and answers questions
  • Follow 3-step instructions
  • Can join a group activity for up to 20 minutes
  • Can type short sentences or numbers and use a mouse
This program is not suitable if your child:
  • Is not yet having back-and-forth conversations or asking questions and making comments
  • Displays behaviours that could cause injury or require emergency help

  • Demonstrating politeness while navigating group decisions
  • Understanding and respecting others' points of view
  • Giving and receiving compliments and feedback
  • Practicing negotiation and tolerating compromise
  • Working with peers to complete and present projects like building an escape room, designing a comic book or making a short film

Your child is a great fit if they:
  • Engage in back-and-forth conversations
  • Use detailed sentences (e.g., “I don’t want to go to the park today because we went yesterday”)
  • Are beginning to recognize and describe their own feelings
  • Are developing skills to manage emotions when compromise is needed
  • Can join a group activity for up to 20 minutes
This program is not suitable if your child:
  • Primarily uses simple sentences without added details
  • Mostly listens or speaks in conversations without a balanced exchange
  • Displays behaviours that could cause injury or require emergency help
